Office of International Affairs

 

The Office of International Affairs an agency of assistance to the Chancellor, develops, guides and promotes the university’s policy on internationalization. Its main activities are making international agreements with institutions of teaching and research, and assisting foreigners visiting PUC Minas.

The Office of International Affairs develops guides and promotes the policy of internationalization of the university.

Its main activities are:

a) Making agreements with foreign institutions of teaching and research.
b) Supporting PUC Minas students, faculty and staff in research activities and studies abroad.
c) Searching for opportunities of scholarships and research funding for the university academic community.
d) Welcoming and assisting foreign students, faculty and staff visiting PUC Minas.
e) Promoting international events in the university.
f) Making agreements for foreign language studies and work abroad.

Support to exchange participants and foreign visitors

The Office of International Affairs is always available to help foreigners visiting PUC Minas, offering academic support, assisting the period of adaptation to the University (assisting the adaptation process), giving information on possible problems with their visa, and ready to help in any other matter during their stay in the country.

Besides, the Office of International Affairs acts as a link between visiting students or faculty and services such as:

• Information on location and services rendered in the various units of PUC Minas;
• Accommodation;
• Information on documents required for stay in Brazil and the use of public services;
• Information on tourism and culture.

The Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais – PUC Minas, founded in 1958, is one of the five largest universities in Brazil. Its activities concentrate mostly in the Belo Horizonte Campus, divided into four units – Coração Eucarístico, Barreiro, São Gabriel and Praça da Liberdade – and two university centres – Betim and Contagem. PUC Minas also comprises campi in four regions of the State of Minas Gerais: Arcos, Poços de Caldas, Serro and Guanhães. Altogether, PUC Minas has about 60.000 students, 2.000 faculty members and 1.800 staff members.

Calendar

The academic year of PUC Minas comprises two academic semesters: from February to mid-June and from August to early December. Access our calendar with all dates and deadlines referring to studies, research and work at PUC Minas.

Infra-structure and research 

The infra-structure of PUC Minas includes buildings for classrooms, laboratories, libraries, a museum, multimedia rooms, theatres, auditoriums, veterinary hospitals, physiotherapy/dentistry/psychology clinics, a TV channel and other equipment integrating theory and practice, contributing to the ethical profile of competent professionals.
